07/09/10 New Canaan and Darien cyclists join forces in Connecticut Challenge

This year, Darien residents have joined forces with several in its "rival" town of New Canaan to form Team Darien-New Canaan and participate in the sixth annual Connecticut Challenge charity bike ride on Saturday, July 24, in Fairfield.
When Darien teenagers first jumped and gyrated into the raucous world of rock and roll a generation ago, a band of their schoolmates was there to lead them.
More than 70 retailers and merchants will line the sidewalks of Darien next weekend as the Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Days.

The Town of Darien's official application requesting a moratorium under State Statute 8-30g was mailed to the Department of Economic and Community Development Wednesday afternoon, according to Planning & Zoning Director Jeremy Ginsberg .
