Darien Friendly's Closes Its Doors After 40 Years

The Friendly's Restaurant in Darien closed its doors this week after 40 years in business on busy Route 1. The Darien location of the popular food and ice cream chain opened on the Post Road near the Norwalk border in 1974. The restaurant closed Tuesday, removing all signs from the building and the site.
