The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee, Darien public schools and the Darien Library are co-sponsoring a screening of "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia" on Oct. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Darien Library. A panel discussion after the movie will include individuals featured in the film: Dr. Sally E. Shaywitz, the Audrey G. Ratner Professor in Learning Development, and Dr. Bennett A. Shaywitz, the Charles and Helen Schwab Professor in Dyslexia and Learning Development, both at the Yale University School of Medicine and co-directors of the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity; the Lucas family, and school district administration.
