Such was the case for Katie Cronin and the Darien girls soccer team Tuesday, defeating Newington 3-0 in the first round of the Class LL state playoffs. Cronin scored the final two goals in the contest and contributed to the first after her shot ricocheted off the Newington keeper and onto the waiting foot of Onora Brown who buried the shot in the 25th minute of play.
