Facing rival New Canaan on Senior Night, with a chance to qualify for the FCIAC girls basketball tournament, the Blue Wave had everything to play for Wednesday, and they held up their end. Darien used a big fourth quarter to defeat New Canaan 61-48, but unfortunately for the Wave, Fairfield Ludlowe beat Westhill, giving the Falcons the final spot in the FCIAC tourney.
