Alex LaPolice always considered himself a baseball player first and foremost, planning on continuing his career in college once he left New Canaan High School. Then amid the snow drifts at Boyle Stadium last December as New Canaan was defeating rival Darien for the Class L state championship, a switch flipped in LaPolice, coming to the realization that the sport truly closest to his heart was football.
