The Safe School Climate Plan, designed to promote a productive atmosphere for learning in Darien schools, was presented to the Board of Education Tuesday night by Timothy Canty, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. "Certainly the research supports the notion that fostering a safe school climate is one of the most effective ways of creating physically, emotionally and intellectually safe, supportive and positive learning environments for students," he said of the state-mandated plan.
