Town snow removal worth its salt

DPW drivers are assigned to salt and plow 11 predetermined routes, containing both primary roads, which are a high priority to keep passable, and secondary routes. By the time roads had been plowed after the blizzard of 2015 grazed southern Connecticut in the last week of January, the town of Darien had spent more than half its annual snow budget, according to town officials.
