A former Darien resident, whose mother died after he allegedly beat her for reminding him to take his medications, had his assault charge upgraded to murder at state Superior Court in Stamford on Tuesday. At a brief appearance, Timothy Anderson , 42, who now lives in Stamford, was scheduled to return to court May 6, when he will be arraigned on the newer charge.
