John Torres, 31, who lives at the Country Club of Darien on Mansfield Avenue, was charged Oct. 18 with driving under the influence, operating with unsafe tires and operating a car without a license, police said. Just after 2:30 a.m., an officer traveling south on Mansfield Avenue saw Torres drive the opposite direction with his car making an odd noise, according to the report.
