Retired Darien surgeon killed in Cape Cod fire

A retired orthopedic surgeon from Darien was killed in a fire Monday that destroyed his $2.4 million Chatham home on Cape Cod, according to Mickey Sherman , the man's attorney. At about 10:10 p.m. on Monday night, the Chatham Fire Department received a call reporting flames coming from the home, which is located in an area of vacation homes that is sparsely populated at this time of year, according to a report by the Chatham Fire Department.
