Five charged with using fake $100 bills at Darien stores

Five out-of-state residents were arrested in two unrelated incidents of trying to use fake $100 bills over the last week in Darien, police said. On Oct. 20, officers went to Gopher Ice Cream to check a report that a woman was attempting to pay for ice cream with counterfeit bills, according to police.
